Useful Tips

If you are making a change to an old PCB design, make sure to open both schematic and board to avoid compatibility errors. The board needs to be bounded inside lines using the dimension layer, not the polygon layer.

Moving Objects

• To move multiple objects at once,

  (select objects with group tool)->(select move tool)–>(control-right click)

• To move selected items by dx, dy

  move (> 0 0) (dx dy)

Sizing

• For traces, (0.01-0.02) inches is a good size. For power supply traces, use (>= 0.05) inches. It’s a good idea to isolate traces from ground plane. To do this,

  right clck polygon–>properties–>set isolate to 0.01.

• For labels on top of board, use tplace with font size around 0.035 inches.

• For holes, use a 0.16 inch hole if you plan to mount using a #8 screw.
